The Oklahoma Sooners schedule has been lackluster so far this season, but the next three games are going to speak volumes on where the Sooners actually are in terms of improvement. First up? The Kansas State Wildcats.
This Saturday nightâs game will feature two must-see-tv players in Kansas State QB Collin Klein and Oklahoma QB Landry Jones. The Sooners have had two weeks to prepare for the Wildcats high-powered offense, but the intensity going into this game will be much different than what they have seen over the last several weeks.
Kansas State comes into the prime time match-up at No. 15, but the Wildcats have also been a hard team to judge as a whole, even after 3 games. Their 52-13 win over the Miami Hurricanes was a complete rout. But the games against Missouri State and North Texas werenât such a beating; they only led Missouri State by seven and North Texas by eight going into the 4th quarter. Collin Kleinâs leadership and seniority have really been a factor for the Wildcats, as it was last year. A Bill Snyder coached team is never one to take lightly. The game will be a real test for both teams to start off conference play.
The Sooners have not lost to Kansas State at home since 1997 and in the Bob Stoops era, the Wildcats have never beaten the Sooners during the regular season. The only loss came during the 2003 Big XII Championship game. Also under Stoops, the Sooners are 14-0 against Top-25 opponents at home. The last time the Wildcats brought a ranked team into Norman was in 2001.
As expected, Stoops confirmed that safety Tony Jefferson has been cleared to play this weekend. With Casey Walker returning, the Sooner defense should be running on all gears when the Wildcats arrive.
I will have a full game preview later in the week, but the Sooners are going to need to start off strong and continue to gain momentum throughout the game in order for them not get into a rut this weekend. Collin Klein and the Wildcats are not a team anyone needs to get in a rut against, just ask Miami.
Sports are the healthy activity for the human body. We should also play the games to maintain our weight and health also. We can do the cycling, swimming and can play the street games also.
