The Olympic schedule for the men's basketball semifinals tips off on August 10 and features four members of the Oklahoma City Thunder playing for two of the final four teams remaining. There is still a chance all four Thunder players will also end up in the Olympic basketball gold medal game on August 12.
Here is the schedule for the semifinal games in the Summer Olympics men's basketball competition.
12:00 p.m. ET - Spain vs. Russia: Spain was the overall favorite heading into the Olympic basketball 2012 competition to end up in the gold medal game against Team USA. After two losses in group play, Spain looked like they were falling apart. However, despite the losses, Spain can still end up where everyone expected them when competition started.
They have to beat Russia to do it.
Russia happens to be one of the teams who beat Spain in the group play so it is easier said than done. Spain relies on NBA talent like Pau Gasol and Thunder star Serge Ibaka to lead their offense. NBA star Andrei Kirilenko leads a Russia team that has every chance in the world to win this game.
4:00 p.m. ET - Team USA vs. Argentina: Team USA has destroyed their competition so far. Their opponents have pushed the U.S. but Team USA always rebounded at the end to win big. Now, they have to get past an Argentina team they have played in the semifinals for three Summer Olympic Games in a row now.
They already beat Argentina once but Manu Ginobili leads his team into the game believing they can pull off the upset. The odds remain in Team USAâs favor that they will win and play for another Gold Medal with their All-Star lineup.
