Australian Olympian Will Not Return to Tulsa Shock - New York Times

Elizabeth Cambage, the No. 2 overall pick in last year’s W.N.B.A. draft, has decided not to play the rest of this season with the Tulsa Shock after winning a silver medal with the Australian Olympic team. Cambage had been expected to return to Tulsa on Monday but did not board her flight back from Australia. The team had been promoting her expected return in Thursday night’s home game against Los Angeles after she dunked in an Olympic game. The team president Steve Swetoha says Tulsa looked forward to Cambage rejoining the Shock for the 2013 season. The Shock (4-19) are tied for the league’s worst record.
