Team USA Basketball: President Barack Obama Picks Dream Team Over 2012 ... - SB Nation Kansas City

The trash talking every year between the Dream Team of '92 and the current roster of Team USA basketball is ongoing, and this year it's reached a fevered pitch with the changing of a generation of basketball talent. Various debates are found here and there between people and players wondering which team would prevail. As for the President of the United States, he'll definitely go with Michael Jordan and company.

"This is a generational thing," Obama said. "I was around in '92, I was a Bulls fan, so I've got to go with the original Dream Team. I suspect that Michael and 'Sir Charles' and others would point out they were probably never down at any point in any of their games. But this is a great team, unbelievable talent."

"You know, Kobe's a competitor, so you expect him to do a little trash talking whenever the opportunity arises," he added.

However, the President did give credit to the current roster, a quarter of which is made up by the Oklahoma City Thunder and other stars like LeBron James and Bryant.

"Obviously the talent that we've got at this point is unbelievable," Obama said. "So there's no reason that we shouldn't bring home the gold. We just have to stay focused."
