2012 Summer Olympics schedule: basketball competition Day 2 - Examiner.com

The second day of the Summer Olympics basketball action is July 31 and the Olympics Schedule features one marquee game and another pitting Team USA against Tunisia.

Kevin Durant led Team USA in the first game with 22 points and nine rebounds as they beat high powered France, 98-71. LeBron James only finished the game with nine points and nine assists and Kobe Bryant scored ten. Kevin Love added 14 in 14 minutes for Team USA while Russell Westbrook added nine.

Tunisia is making their first appearance in the Olympic Games in basketball after winning the 2011 FIBA Africa Championship. They lost in their first game to fellow African country Nigeria, also making their first Olympics appearance.

Makrem Ben Romdhane is Tunisia’s best player and 5-10 point guard Marouan Kechrid proved in their first game to be dangerous as well. However, if Tony Parker couldn’t compete with Team USA, Kechrid will have trouble as well.
