Oklahoma City Thunder destroy Los Angeles Lakers in Game 1 - Online Sportsbook Pro

Coming off a thrilling seven-game first-round playoffs series with the Denver Nuggets, the Los Angeles Lakers were taken to their limit with George Karl’s squad taking the storied NBA franchise the full seven games. Despite having lackluster performances throughout the Game 3 through Game 6, the Lakers showed up in Game 7 and proved that they weren’t going to give up without a fight.

Unfortunately, immediately after beating the Nuggets in Game 7 in Los Angeles, the Lakers had to jump on a plane for Game 1 of the second-round series against the Oklahoma City Thunder with just 24 hours to get some rest. The lack of rest after an exhausting series with the Nuggets was a recipe for disaster as the Lakers weren’t anywhere near prepared for a rested and arguably the best team in the NBA.

With the Lakers tired and begging for mercy, the Thunder took advantage by destroying their new rivals in a 29-point blowout, 119-90. After for the first few minutes in the first quarter, it became apparent that the Lakers were completely outmatched by a superior opponent.

In a winning effort, All-Star point guard Russell Westbrook led the way for the Thunder with a game-high 27 points. Along with getting the job done offensively, Westbrook also dished out nine assists and grabbed seven rebounds. Kevin Durant and James Harden finished with 25 and 17 respectively.

As for the Lakers, All-Stars Kobe Bryant and Andrew Bynum led the way offensively with 20 points apiece. Unfortunately, that was nowhere near enough to keep up with the red-hot Thunder who got out to leads as much as 35 points in the rout of the Lakers.

In Game 2 on Wednesday night, the Lakers will attempt to bounce back before heading back to Los Angeles for Game 3 and Game 4 at the Staples Center.
