NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- Oklahoma is abandoning the Lloyd Noble Center to play at its former basketball arena on campus twice this season.
Athletic director Joe Castiglione announced Thursday that the Sooners will play an exhibition game against Central Oklahoma and a regular season game against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at the remodeled McCasland Field House.
The field house was Oklahoma's basketball home from 1928 until the Lloyd Noble Center opened in 1975, including when current coach Lon Kruger played there as a visitor for Kansas State twice in the 1970s. It is currently home to the school's wrestling and volleyball teams.
It was renovated this summer, getting a new roof, locker rooms, restrooms and other updates.
The exhibition game is scheduled for Nov. 7, and the Sooners host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Dec. 31.
