Oklahoma City Thunder take game 1. For the Miami Heat some things never change. - Space City Scoop

The Thunder win game 1 of the NBA Finals at home 105-94 over the Heat.

Am i surprised? Not at all. Everything that i thought would happen, did happen. The Thunder started off slow in the first half, just as they did throughout the Western Conference Finals against the San Antonio Spurs. They never lead until the third quarter, but once they got the lead they never let up.

A lot of people argue over who is the better player, Kevin Durant or LeBron James. The difference between the two shined bright in the fourth quarter. LeBron scored just 7 points on 2-6 from the field and 3-4 from the free throw line. Durant almost single handedly outscored the Miami Heat in the fourth scoring 15 points while the Heat only had 19 points combined. Some things never change. LeBron showed me once again why i can’t take him over Durant. He is a phenomanal player, but lacks toughness and the drive to win in my opinion. Before game 1 James basically stated that he would be fine if he won or lost. Doesn’t sound like someone with the heart of a champion does it Rockets fans?

Game 1 was just a glimpse of how the entire series will go. The Heat have no chance of winning if the game is close. It’s hard for me to believe that the Heat can blowout the Thunder four times. It’s looking more like this is the start of a dynasty for the Oklahoma City Thunder. If they can Keep James Harden and Serge Ibaka around with Durant and Russell Westbrook i don’t see any team being able to compete with these young phenoms.

The Heat need to make multiple adjustments to keep up with the Thunder in this series. Chris Bosh has to step up and be his normal self even if he is hurt, no excuses. I expect him to start game 2. Dwyane Wade has to be this teams closer. LeBron can get you their but needs someone to finish for him. If the Heat’s big three don’t step up soon this series could be over quicker than you think. But who knows, people like to overreact after every playoff game. So i will end this by saying “to be continued.”
