Oklahoma Sooners' receiver Kenny Stills named to Biletnikoff Award watch list - Examiner.com

The Oklahoma Sooners have only one wide receiver with any team experience returning for game action in 2012 but that player, Kenny Stills, is expected to lead the group of young receivers. Stills learned on July 17 that he was added to the Biletnikoff Award watch list.

The Biletnikoff Award is annually awarded to the nation’s best wide receiver. Stills was also named to this list in 2011.

Stills, a junior, will step into the offensive leadership role that Ryan Broyles held for the last two seasons. Broyles was a finalist for the award the last two seasons, losing out each year to Justin Blackmon of the Oklahoma State Cowboys, despite Broyles setting the NCAA record for most receptions in a career.

Stills started all 11 games that he saw action in last season, taking over the No. 1 receiver role after Broyles tore his ACL. Stills finished the year with 61 receptions for 849 yards and eight touchdowns. Stills has 1,625 career receiving yards, good enough for 10th in OU history.

He was also the second fastest receiver to hit the 1,000 yard mark (behind Broyles).
