Herschel Sims has been dismissed from Oklahoma State’s football program, said coach Mike Gundy on Friday, according to a report from NewsOK.com.

Gundy said Sims was dismissed for violating team rules, but he would not elaborate. Sims had 31 carries on 242 yards and two touchdowns in his freshman year last season for the Cowboys.

The team has three other running backs: Joseph Randle, an All-Big 12 performer; Jeremy Smith; and Desmond Roland, who played limited minutes as a freshman last season.

Bill Haisten from the Tulsa World tweeted on Friday afternoon that he expects Sims to enroll in a Junior College and then move on to play for Baylor.
