Tulsa Drillers, 'Madame Butterfly,' 'Destination Claremore' - Tulsa World

Friday: Tulsa Drillers

The first-place Tulsa Drillers continue their second homestand of the season with a 7:05 p.m. Friday game against Springfield at ONEOK Field. The homestand continues at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, 2:05 p.m. Sunday and 11:05 a.m. Monday.

Friday will be the first "Friday Night Fireworks" display of the season after the April 13 edition was canceled by rain. There will also be a post-game fireworks show Saturday.

Friday, Sunday: 'Madame Butterfly'

Tulsa Opera's "Madame Butterfly," based on Giacomo Puccini's tale of a young Japanese girl whose love for an American sailor leads to tragedy, continues this weekend at the Tulsa PAC's Chapman Music Hall.

Performances are set for 7:30 p.m. Friday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Saturday: Black Keys

The Black Keys, with special guest Arctic Monkeys, will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at the BOK Center.

Before the show, local musician Stephen Speaks will put on a free concert at 6 p.m. at the BOK Center Outdoor Plaza at the corner of Third and Frisco streets.



Friday: Designer Showcase

The 2012 Designer Showcase opens Friday at the 97-year-old McGuire House, 1132 E. 18th St.

The home is open through May 20. Admission is $12 for tickets purchased in advance or $15 at the door. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays, noon to 4 p.m. Sundays and extended hours Thursdays in May from 5 to 8 p.m.

Saturday-Sunday: Gun, knife show

A Metcalf gun and knife show will be in Tulsa this weekend.

Presented by Warren Metcalf Production Inc., the show will be held at Expo Square's Exchange Center, 4145 E. 21st St.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is $13 for adults, free for children 12 and younger.

Saturday: RaceAgainst Racism

The second annual Race Against Racism, hosted by the YWCA Tulsa, is set for Saturday.

The course will start downtown at John Hope Franklin Reconciliation Park/ONEOK Field. The one-mile Justice Walk begins at 9 a.m., and the 5k begins at 9:30 a.m.

Registration is $20 in advance and $25 on race day. All proceeds will benefit YWCA Tulsa's Health & Wellness program and Racial Justice initiatives.

Friday-Sunday: 'Destination Claremore'

The nine-day "Destination Claremore" event kicks off Friday. A variety of activities are scheduled throughout the city through May 5.

Visitors can watch wool be shorn from sheep Friday and Saturday at Shepherd's Cross farm during "Woolly Weekend." A gun and knife show will be held Saturday and Sunday at the J.M. Davis Arms and Historical Museum, and the Route 66 Nut House will host an antique show Saturday and Sunday.
