Oklahoma City Thunder embarrass New York Knicks, 104-92 - Sportsrageous

The New York Knicks, without Carmelo Anthony, took on Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder in Oklahoma.

Following their dreadful performance against the Memphis Grizzlies where Rudy Gay torched them for 26 points, the Knicks looked to reestablish themselves against one of the best teams in the NBA and the best team in the Western Conference, the 10-2 Thunder.

With Anthony out with an injury, the Knicks knew this game would not be easy by any stretch and it wasn’t. Kevin Durant led the Thunder with 28 points, Russell Westbrook added 21 points and 8 assists and James Harden contributed 24 points.

The Knicks added some offense of their own with Amar’e Stoudemire and Tyson Chandler contributing 14 points each and a combined 13 rebounds.Toney Douglas also contributed 14 points in the game. New York cut into the Thunder’s lead in the third quarter by four, and the in the fourth they dominated scoring 27 points as opposed to the Thunder’s 12.

“We’re trying to be consistent at that,” Westbrook said. “When we get leads, we need to be able to keep it going,” according to Yahoo Sports.

According to NBA.com, Carmelo Anthony averaged 30 points, hitting 50% of his shots in games against the Thunder, while he was a member of the Denver Nuggets.
