Tulsa Shock Draft Glory Johnson With Fourth Overall Pick - News On 6

BRISTOL, Connecticut -

The Tulsa Shock used its fourth overall pick in the 2012 WNBA draft to select Glory Johnson.

Johnson, a forward from Tennessee, was the SEC Defensive player of the year after leading the conference in rebounds, ranking fifth in scoring and seventh in blocks.

The Shock looks for much improvement this season after winning only three games last season with a 3-31 record.

"I can go to Tulsa and make an impact," said Johnson. "They're a great team and weren't as successful as they wanted to be last year but it's time for a change."

Stanford forward Nnemkadi Ogwumike was selected as the first overall pick by the Los Angeles Sparks.

The Seattle Storm had the second pick and selected Tennessee's Shekinna Stricklen while the Minnesota Lynx picked Notre Dame forward Deveraux Peters with the third overall selection.

The Shock also hold the fifth pick in the second round, as well as the first pick in the third round.
