Tulsa Drillers, Turkish festival, Race Against Racism - Tulsa World

Saturday: Tulsa Drillers

The first-place Tulsa Drillers continue their second homestand of the season with a 7:05 p.m. Saturday game against Springfield at ONEOK Field. The homestand continues at 2:05 p.m. Sunday and 11:05 a.m. Monday.

There will be a special post-game fireworks show Saturday, and the first 1,500 fans through the Derrick and Arvest entrances will receive a ONEOK Field mounted canvas photo.

Sunday: 'Madame Butterfly'

The final performance of Tulsa Opera's "Madame Butterfly" is set for 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Tulsa PAC's Chapman Music Hall.

The production is based on Giacomo Puccini's tale of a young Japanese girl whose love for an American sailor leads to tragedy. Tickets are $10-$98, available at 918-587-4811 and tulsaworld.com/mytix



Saturday: Black Keys

The Black Keys, with special guest Arctic Monkeys, will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at the BOK Center.

Before the show, local musician Stephen Speaks will put on a free concert at 6 p.m. at the BOK Center Outdoor Plaza at the corner of Third and Frisco streets.



Saturday, Sunday: Gun, knife show

A Metcalf gun and knife show will be in Tulsa this weekend.

Presented by Warren Metcalf Production Inc., the show will be held at Expo Square's Exchange Center, 4145 E. 21st St.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is $13 for adults and free for children 12 and younger.

Saturday: Weekend entertainment

Larry the Cable Guy performs at 4 and 8 p.m. Saturday at The Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa. Tickets start at $50, available at tulsaworld.com/hardrockcasino

And Merle Haggard performs a sold-out show at River Spirit Event Center in Tulsa at 7 p.m. Saturday.



Saturday, Sunday: Destination Claremore

The nine-day Destination Claremore event kicked off this weekend. A variety of activities is scheduled throughout the city through May 5.

Visitors can watch wool be shorn from sheep at Shepherd's Cross farm during "Woolly Weekend." A gun and knife show will be held Saturday and Sunday at the J.M. Davis Arms and Historical Museum, and the Route 66 Nut House will host an antique show.

Saturday: Turkish festival

Raindrop Turkish House is hosting the third annual Turkish Festival from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at its Broken Arrow location, 4444 W. Houston St.

The event also serves as the official grand opening for Raindrop Turkish House's new building.

Attendees will enjoy live performances of Turkish folk dances, samples of Turkish and Mediterranean food, Turkish arts and crafts, and a variety of other activities. The event is free.



Saturday: Race Against Racism

The second annual Race Against Racism, hosted by the YWCA Tulsa, is set for Saturday.

The course will start downtown at John Hope Franklin Reconciliation Park/ONEOK Field. The one-mile Justice Walk begins at 9 a.m., and the 5k begins at 9:30 a.m.

Registration is $20 in advance and $25 on race day. All proceeds will benefit YWCA Tulsa's Health & Wellness program and Racial Justice initiatives.

Race-day registration begins at 8 a.m. To register in advance, stop by the YWCA's midtown location, 1910 S. Lewis Ave.
